Barack Obama won Virginia in 2008 by 6% but the Republican candidate in today's Governor election has won by a whopping twenty-something percent.
To preface the results of the exit polls, a 56% majority of voters stated that Barack Obama was not a factor in their choice.

If only those that voted today were the ones that voted in 2008, McCain would have won -- 50 to 44. 12% of Obama voters, switched over to McDonnell.

Approval of Obama's job as president was split but 20% of those that approved of his job performance voted for McDonnell.

On the issues, the Republican candidate won on the economy and on taxes. 47% of voters stated that the economy/jobs was the most important issue that mattered most when making their decision. The Democrat, Deeds won on health care and transportation.
