HIGHLIGHTS

  • 67% of adults believe the government should never have bailed out the banks
  • 61% were opposed to the automaker bailout
  • 56% believe the government should have instead helped out struggling homeowners

Pew Research conducted a poll in which they gave voters a laundry list of characteristics a politician could have and asked them whether it made them more or less likely to vote for him/her.

Incumbents are going to have a tough time but will have an even tougher time if they supported the bailouts.

According to CBS News, 67% of adults believe the government should never have bailed out the banks. 61% were opposed to the automaker bailout but 56% believe the government should have instead helped out struggling homeowners.
