Another Good Day of Polling for Mike Huckabee

11/21/2009, by Proloy Bhatta

HIGHLIGHTS

  • Winfrey's favorable rating: 61%.
  • Favorable Rating Margins: Huckabee +22%, Romney +9%, Palin +5%.
  • Palin has an 18 point turnaround since July.

Fox News conducted a poll Nov 17-18, 2009 that measured the favorable/unfavorables of some potential 2012 candidates -- and Oprah Winfrey.

Politician Favorable Unfavorable
Oprah Winfrey 61 26
Sarah Palin 47 42
Mike Huckabee 45 23
Mitt Romney 38 27
Newt Gingrich 38 38

In the first favorable/unfavorable poll out since Palin's book release, Palin's favorable rating is 5-points higher than her unfavorable rating. In July when Fox News last measured Palin's fav/unfav, they found her unfavorables to be 13-points higher.

Mike Huckabee has the best fav/unfav margins of any of the potential 2012 Republican candidates measured here.

Remember, Huckabee has been leading in each of the last two 2012 national polls that were conducted in mid-October.

Politician AVERAGE CNN Fox
Mike Huckabee 31% 32 29
Mitt Romney 23% 21 24
Sarah Palin 22% 25 18

With favorables that remain high and leads in the latest 2012 polls, Huckabee definitely should be considered the leading candidate for 2012.
