CNN Obama Approval Rating Drops Below 50 Percent

HIGHLIGHTS

• CNN: Obama's approval rating below 50% for first time.
• CNN: Obama's approval rating has dropped 6% since last month.
• About one-in-six of those that disapprove of Obama say so because he is too liberal.

According to CNN's latest poll, Obama's approval rating has dropped from 55% to 48% and his disapproval rating has jumped from 42% to 50% since mid-November.

CNN has recently added a new question to their list. Respondents are asked why they disapprove of the president. They found that about one-in-six of those that disapprove of the president do so because they say he is not liberal enough.

51% of the respondents to this poll said they opposed the war in Afghanistan but 62% favored Obama's decision to send 30,000 more troops.
