Tea Party Senate Races

According to Fox News, their latest poll has Obama's approval rating at 46%.
First, let's look at the Fox poll trends.
| Fox News Polls | ||
| Date | Approve | Disapprove |
11/17-18 | 46 | 46 |
10/27-28 | 50 | 41 |
10/13-14 | 49 | 45 |
9/29-30 | 50 | 42 |
9/15-16 | 54 | 39 |
8/11-12 | 53 | 40 |
We can clearly see Obama's poll numbers slipping a bit.
This slipping trend is similarly measured by Quinnipiac University which recently found Obama's approval rating to be just 48%.
| Quinnipiac University Polls | ||
| Date | Approve | Disapprove |
11/9-16 | 48 | 42 |
9/29 - 10/5 | 50 | 41 |
7/27 - 8/3 | 50 | 42 |
Obama's approval rating barely gets above 50% if at all since August ... despite the fact that other pollsters have measured higher poll numbers.
The one glaring similarity between Quinnipiac and Fox News is that their polls are measuring registered voters instead of the general adult audience.
Let's do the comparison between the polls for registered voters and adults nationwide.
| Registered Voters | |||
| Pollster | Date | Approve | Disapprove |
| AVERAGE | 47% | 44% | |
| Fox | 11/17-18 | 46 | 46 |
| Quinnipiac | 11/9-16 | 48 | 42 |
| Adults Nationwide | |||
| Pollster | Date | Approve | Disapprove |
| AVERAGE | 55% | 41% | |
| CBS | 11/13-16 | 53 | 36 |
| CNN | 11/13-15 | 55 | 42 |
| ABC | 11/12-15 | 56 | 42 |
| AP | 11/5-9 | 54 | 43 |
Obama's approval rating is 8% lower among registered voters than it is among all adults. At first glance, it does appear as though registered voters are more critical of Obama's job performance than the average adult but our small sample size makes it inconclusive.
Other key points from their poll: Obama's favorable rating is at 54%, Pelosi at 28%.
