Obama Poll: Nobel Prize, 2012Fox News / Opinion Dynamics Corp. conducted the national telephone poll of 900 registered voters for FOX News from October 13 to October 14. The poll has a 3-point error margin. Nobel Peace Prize65% say Obama should not have won the Nobel Peace Prize. Here is the party break down.
Harry Truman ended WW2 but did not win the peace prize. Gandhi freed India from Britain but he did not win the peace prize. Even Reagan urged the Berlin Wall to come down, again no peace prize. But Obama, Gore and Jimmy Carter have each won? Making speeches is not enough. Obama would have to do at least one of the following to be deserving of the prize: unify the two Koreas, end military rule in Burma, free Tibet, end military occupation in Iraq and Afghanistan, end the genocide in Darfur, among many other potential peaceful measures. Giving Obama the prize now just a few months into Obama's presidency is irresponsible. Approval RatingsOverall Obama job approval rating: 49% approve, 45% disapprove. This is the first time a pollster, excluding Rasmussen Reports, has ever measured Obama's approval rating to be below 50% but as per the polls by Marist, CBS, AP, and Ipsos, Obama is averaging 55.3% thus far this month. Obama's rating has dropped 5% since Fox/OD last conducted a poll from 9/15-16/09 but his monthly average has gone up in October since September.
